Quick Biography
My name is Alex McCreight, and I am originally from the Kansas City area. I recentely graduated from Macalester College with a bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. During my time at Macalester College, I researched Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown etiology (CKDu) occurring in Nicaragua under Dr. Brianna Heggeseth. Currently, I am a member of the Statistical Functional Genomics laboratory in the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center at Columbia University.

For my Data Science II class, my group used LASSO, Elastic Net, Ridge Regression, Partial Least Squares, and MARS to predict COVID-19 recovery times and identify risk factors for long COVID.
